[2편] 여린 시작

덕스트라우스 집에 아기 오리 6마리가 차례로 태어나는 날,

농장은 잔치집처럼 떠들썩했어요.

하지만 농장 동물들은 이내 수군거리기 시작했어요.

"오리 집에 먼지를 덮어쓴 것처럼

못생긴 애가 태어났다는군."

"어머, 우리 농장에 저런 못난이는 없는데."

아직 눈도 못 뜬 여린 오리에게도

세상은 너무 쉽게 말하고 매정하기만 합니다.

On the day when six baby ducks were born at Deokstrauss House,

The farm was noisy like a feast house.

But farm animals soon began to whisper.

"There's an ugly kid born like dusting a duck house."

"Oh my, there's no one like that on my farm."

Even for the soft duck

who hasn't even opened his eyes yet,

The world is too easy to talk and heartless.
