And I threw out an explanation with it.

"This is only his box. The sheep you asked for is inside."

I was very surprised to see a light break over the face of my young judge:

"That is exactly the way I wanted it! Do you think that this sheep will have to have a great deal of grass?"

"Why?"

"Because where I live everything is very small."

"There will surely be enough grass for him," I said. "It is a very small sheep that I have given you."

He bent his head over the drawing:

"Not so small that-- Look! He has gone to sleep."

And that is how I made the acquaintance of the little prince.　

상자 그림을 건네며 내가 말했다.

"이건 상자야. 내가 원하는 양은 이 안에 있어."

그때 자기 취향에 마음에 드는지 어린 왕자는 눈이 환히 빛났다. 나는 무척 놀랐다.

"정말 그게 바로 제가 바라던 그림이에요! 이 양은 풀을 많이 뜯어먹나요?"

"왜 그걸 묻는 거니?"

"제가 사는 곳은 아주 작거든요."

"괜찮을 걸. 아주 작은 양이니까."

그림에 고개를 푹 떨구며 그에게 말했어.

"그렇게 작지도 않나 봐요. 그 애는 자고 있어요."

그렇게 난 어린 왕자와 아는 사이가 되었다.
