4월 하순인데 3월에 배운 중급영어회화 표현 복기를 이제 한다. 4월이 시작된 게 엊그제 같은데 할 일을 한주 한주 숙제하듯 해치우다 보니 벌써 4월 말이다. 이런저런 사정으로 이번 달에는 브런치에도 글을 오랫동안 안 썼다. 이제 브런치 운영한 지 1년이 다 돼가는데 최장 기간 안 쓴 게 이번 달인 듯하다. 11월에도 글을 많이 안 쓰긴 했지만 그래도 며칠 간격으로 올리긴 했는데- 시간을 내려면 쓸 수 있지만 언제부턴가 브런치에 글 쓰는 데에도 에너지가 많이 쓰이고 브런치를 처음 시작할 때보다 여기에 글 쓰는 게 불편해졌다. 이유는 여러 가지.
그래도 꾸준히 브런치를 운영하는 데 따른 장점이 단점보다 더 많기는 하다. 운영 1주년쯤 될 때 그 이야기를 할 수 있을지 모르겠는데- 오늘은 영어 표현 복습하는 글을 쓰려고 하니까 브런치 이야기는 그만 하고. 1월부터 듣기 시작한 EBS 중급영어회화는 이번 달에도 계속 듣고 있다. 다만 역시 이런저런 사정으로 이번 달에는 다른 달보다 빠진 날도 많았다. 일주일 정도? 재방송을 많이 해줘서 그걸 들으면 되는데 그것도 안 챙기고. 교재에서 다루는 대화 상황은 전보다 더 흥미롭고 시사와 연결되는 내용도 많은데.
곧 5월이 다가오는 만큼 본방송을 못 들을 때는 재방송이라도 꼼꼼히 챙겨서 교재 값이 아깝지 않도록 해야겠다. 토익 시험도 빨리 다시 쳐야 하는데- 4월 될 때까지 안 치고 뭐했나 싶다. 미리 쳤어야 점수가 부족하면 더 업그레이드했을 텐데. '시험 점수가 과연 쓸모 있을까'란 생각이 든 것도 행동을 굼뜨게 했고. 그러나 뭔가를 보여줘야 한다면 가장 편리한 척도가 결국 그런 거니 무시할 수 없다. 안경값보다 비싼 공인 어학시험 응시료도 아깝기는 하다. ETS에 갖다 부은(?) 돈이 얼만데 또 뭔가를 주고 싶지 않다는 생각? 그래도 해야지. 각설하고 복습 시작합니다.
