"You slept with her, really?”
Alexander himself noticed that asking this kind of question wasn't very proper, but he didn't care. This meeting's purpose was to discuss something absurd, anyway.
"I did, she seduced me first. She was drunk, but she knew what she was doing. She took off her clothes as soon as she got into the hotel room, and we just did it. She was flaky, though. I admitted she was hot, but next morning she just left without a word while I was sleeping. Then I sent her a message, see it? This is her reply."
Alexander looked at the screen of Ed's phone.
<Hey girl, where have you gone?>
At 9:00 in the morning.
And her reply arrived at 7:00 in the evening.
< I'm not your girl. Yesterday I was not in my right mind. I hope you never mention me to anybody. I don't want to see you anymore.>
Ed withdrew his phone, and sighed.
"You took advantage of her."
"No, I didn't! She seduced me, I said."
"Why didn't you just leave once you helped her get into the room?"
Alexander decided not to trust 100% what Ed said.
"I thought I would leave as soon as I was sure she was safely asleep."
"And?"
"Well,"
Ed hesitated again.
Alcohol seemed to strike Ed dumb in his self-defense. He gulped beer with vodka again. Alexander sipped whisky.
"Be honest, Ed. Make me to want to help you. I can see whether you're being frank with me or not."
Ed's face reddened.
"She lied on the bed as soon as we got into the room. I followed her, lying beside her. I was tired and about to leave soon. You knew that I've liked her ever since . . . I couldn't reject temptation."
"Come on, you said, she took off her clothes first. Did you lie to me then?"
"She did, I'm not lying. I didn't come here to talk about Anna! This is about Violet."
"No, Ed, I have to know. Tell me what was going on between you and Anna that night."
"Fine,"
Ed looked down, giving up any further effort to argue with Alexander.
