Cold Dewdrops Formed Throughout theNight
Violet was waiting for him in the same place as before. She found him, and said to him with a harsh tone,
"You're late."
"Traffic jam,"
he replied coolly.
He made up his mind to get all of her testimony today, and no more. Anyway, he had the whole video, so it should be a simpler process than expected.
Violet sat on the chair, and asked him,
"How have you been? Your face doesn’t look very good. Is there some problem in your married life?"
Alexander said nothing, and prepared for this interview. Violet spoke, since he didn't reply for a long while.
"Will you give me a cup of coffee? I need hot coffee to make myself comfortable. I know that you brew the best."
"There's nothing for brewing coffee as you can see,"
Alexander said stiffly.
She just stared at him. He acted as disinterested in her as possible. He noticed that she tried to manipulate him whenever she felt he had any interest in her. If she just gave him her testimony, no matter what happened before, there'd be nothing holding back the investigation. But he remembered what Cynthia said. He sighed. He would do his best to solve this quickly, and release himself from Violet.
"Since Ed drove me out from his place, I haven’t had a proper residence. I was accommodated in various motels, inns, etc. and earned money via a part time job.
On the night of the rape, I was walking in a back alley, which was desolate. All of a sudden, somebody covered my mouth from behind, and I lost consciousness soon after. I found myself in someone's house when I woke up. But I can't remember the location. There were 3 men whose faces were covered with masks. And it happened exactly the same as in those videos. They said Ed ordered them to rape me. After they violated me, they covered my eyes and threw me in the car. After awhile, they made me get out of the car again.
I still had my phone with me then. I tried to report what happened, but I received a message from an unknown number. The contents were my videos, and it said if I ever reported this, they would spread them online. I freaked out, and didn't know what to do. I just wanted to hide. I ran into the inn. When I calmed down, I only thought of you. Even though we’re over, you're the most reliable person to me."
These were details Alexander got from her statements. She knew nothing about those criminals. She believed that Ed really made them to do this because he harassed her often. She took a shower several times after the rape since she wanted to wash off all traces of them. Therefore, she washed off all evidence which they could have gotten.
