"How have you been?"
Alexander asked.

Ed spoke calmly. There was no anger or disappointment in his voice, nor was there resignation. Alexander was at a loss for words.
"I know, it's too much, isn't it? Too much transparency. She is too honest, in some ways, and she always has been."
Ed sipped his coffee. Alexander didn't know what to say, and just drank his coffee.
"I know what you want to say to me. After all this craziness happened. I also guessed myself that I was acting quite out of mind, and I still am now, as a matter of fact. Because I realized that I love her so much. Way too much. Even if she is a beggar, a murderer, a swindler, or anything else of the sort. She is just the one for me. Although she is too transparent."
Ed laughed. Alexander had never seen such 'transparent' laughter from Ed. Alexander felt at ease by that laughter.
He said goodbye, and Ed offered his hand. Alexander grasped it tightly. Once they parted ways, who knew when they would ever meet again?
