Alexander said coolly. The guard guided him into a room.
When Alexander left the room, he had the exact same aqua-marine colored something-a very big diamond-on his chest.
“Natural diamond; 24 carrots, sir. The symbol of Arsh. The symbol of dignity,”
the receptionist, whom Alexander registered his membership with, explained.
She also told him various exclusive rewards and privileges, but he wasn’t listening. In his mind, he scolded himself severely for doing something so nonsensical. Even though he had the money, he spent an absurd amount of it. What a ridiculous way to waste money!
He vacantly went up to the 27th floor. When he came to his senses, he realized how different this place was with those he was used to visiting.
He was dumbfounded and stopped for awhile, paralyzed by a sense of difference, but he began to move, and found the restaurant he was to go to.
He went to the counter, and mentioned the reservation under Jaqueline’s name. A waiter guided him to the table.
Alexander noticed a woman who was sitting at the table. Jaqueline was the exact same as her picture. If you described her as a flower, she would be like a dazzling red rose in elegant bloom. But, in an instant, upon seeing Alexander, the surprise on her face changed into a wide grin, and Alexander couldn’t help but think of a fly-hunting frog.
“I’m pleased to meet you, Jaqueline,”
he greeted her very politely.
“Likewise, I’m happy to see you too. You’re a lot more handsome than your pictures and videos suggested. Please, have a seat. I’m a regular at this restaurant. They have an excellent wine list. It will take awhile for our food to come out. I already ordered for us. As you can see, it’s pretty crowded. Thankfully, this is a big place, and, on the bright side, it gives us a chance for good conversation over a bottle. What would you like?”
He had no clue what she ordered for them. They hadn’t even talked about what kind of food they each like, let alone discuss what they should order tonight. There was no menu he could check, either. He looked around and noticed that most of the food on people’s tables was unfamiliar to him. He felt relieved when he saw some people cutting into steak.
As he didn’t like seafood at all, he only wished Jaqueline got him something casual and terrestrial. Also, she didn’t bother to ask him about his ride over, or the process of entering the restaurant, so he didn’t even bring it up. While waiting for the food, they very naturally drank wine and made small talk.
