She introduced herself as a traveller and explorer, and knew many interesting stories that grabbed people’s attention; Alexander’s included. She was a very open, cheerful person, which complemented her adventurous style. He lost track of time listening to her narrative.
However, in spite of this, he was beginning to feel like he was merely the audience of an albeit very entertaining play. The actress ought not to question the audience, he thought bitterly. Sure, she was bright and cheery, but was this truly a good foundation to build and maintain a relationship? Inwardly, he tried to draw a future with Jaqueline in his mind’s eye. A strong sense of loneliness gripped Alexander. It seemed like her vigorous tongue had no intention of resting anytime soon.
At this moment, a man walked toward Jaqueline from behind. Alexander was facing him, but, assuming the man to be a passerby, didn’t think anything of him at first.
“Honey?”
Honey? Alexander gazed up at the man's face and at Jacqueline. The man’s shocked expression and Jacqueline’s bewildered eyes met in the air.
“What are you doing here?"
“Oh, darling, hey, say hello. This is . . . my coworker, Alexander.”

The man turned on his heels and disappeared at a rapid pace.
“Darling, don’t leave me!”
She scrambled to her feet, following the man. They were soon gone from Alexander’s sight.
