Footsteps of Spring
立春 [6] / [7]

Vertigo surged upon him as he repeatedly read what he wrote under the dim light in the room. He dropped the pen on the table feebly. The horrible scene in Sarah's house kept replaying in front of him. His vision got dim and blurry. He staggered. He moved onto the bed.
How much time has passed?
In a moment, he smelled something weird. He opened his eyes. To be sure, it was the exact same chemical smell floating around in Sarah's house. He couldn't move even the tip of his fingers. The door flung open.
It was Cynthia. She had two glasses in her hands, and approached Alexander without hesitation. For some reason, she wore just a bra on her upper torso, and very short shorts. the clothing fabric was too shear, and he could see her bare skin through the clothes.
"I want to celebrate your discharge. And now, we can be together."
She said in strangely lilting voice. She handed over the glass to Alexander, and said,
"Cheers."
But he didn't drink. He just stared at Cynthia. She noticed that he hesitated to drink. She shouted in a very loud voice. A voice not her own. It quaked, and shuddered terribly, like a thunderclap.
"DRINK, I SAID!"
