What if we collect all the elements and arrange them like a periodic table?
The basic component of a substance is called an element. So far, there are 118 elements that have been discovered. But what would happen if we tried to collect all these elements together and arrange them like how they are arranged in a periodic table? Would it even be possible?
The first problem would actually be collecting all the elements since some of them can only be made in the laboratory and would immediately disappear or too radioactive. But, if we find the elements around us and accept some risks we can collect 90% of these 118 elements because the elements compose substances that exist around us like oxygen and gold.
However, what would happen if we collect all of them and try to arrange the elements like a periodic table? The current periodic table of elements has seven rows called periods and eighteen columns called groups. When arranging elements, you can easily arrange up to the second period because they are simple enough. When the third period is arranged, our body can catch fire, and the fourth period may lead to death due to heavy smoke. In the fifth period, there is a risk of radiation exposure in addition to all of the above risks.
However, if you survive and attempt to arrange the sixth period the elements will react and explode. Additionally, the place you are collecting them in will be destroyed. The seventh period is composed of the transuranium elements that are produced when an atomic bomb detonates. These elements cannot be found easily, but if you try to find and arrange them there will be an explosion equivalent to a nuclear bomb detonation. The direct casualties will be enormous from this explosion and the long-term pollution from radioactive fallout will also be enormous. It will take hundreds of years for all of this to be cleansed.
Even if collecting something is a good experience, it is never a good idea
if that "something" is all chemical elements.
