Saturday’s book club meeting 'Thinkcubation'

Reading is quite needed in our life but it is not compulsory, so I registered this book club named ‘think-cubation’. Statistics itself is really hard and the contents to be discussed are also hard. I thought the meeting would be quite boring. But today we had a guest who will be the book club’s chairman in the next season. He is a doctor and the conclusion of his speech during the meeting was helpful and quite motivating.

On this end of June, the 1st season of book club will be ended and I will list up some productive result of last 2 month’s book review activity. I really recommend you to come and join this book club because it will enhance you on three aspects.

Reading

1. Reading Skill

We are reading a recommendation, verified by an expert book. You may only read what you want to. But during this book club, 80% of the books are not the books of my liking but due to book review and discussion, I had to read. Sometimes it was really hard to finish reading it because of the difficulty of book such as the “History of Money”, and “Naked Statistics.”

2. Writing Skill

You can train yourself to write a book-review and this review will be read by other members or the general public. Considering subscriber or not is a big difference when you practice to write something. I won’t use my real name on-line, because I just want to freely write what I want to say without revealing my social life.

Discussion

3. Speaking Skill (Logical thinking)

This activity is an ultimate accomplishment(which is called 화룡점정 in Korean or 畵龍點睛 in Chinese). After reading and writing, you have to speak out what you think about the certain subject. In front of other people, there are few speaking-out opportunities in our lives. By training yourself to think and organize your speech is a process of logical thinking. It is an activity to make a step forward from writing a book review. You can enhance your logical and thinking skills as well as speaking skills too.

My purpose of reading is very simple; I want to be a wiser businesswoman compared to the past. I want to make a better decision to live a better life. I believe that through reading I definitely can be a wise businesswoman in the near future. Those three aspects are just rewards that I didn’t expect to achieve before I participated in this Think-Cubation book club. I’m really thankful to the people who made a plan for this book club and my team members.
