● An Old Man’s Wish
I launched into the challenge of the low birthrate crisis without any preparation. I realized at once that this was something to be done immediately, unconditionally, and at the risk of my life. For South Korea, for the world, for humanity, there has been, and never will be, a more urgent and horrific catastrophe in human history. If it is no one’s fault, it is everyone’s fault, and it is my fault. I leave behind the only solution in this book. It is the Egg of Columbus.
ㅡㅡㅡ
No regrets.
For an old man, life remains too short to dwell on what is gone.
So I have spent my precious time doing good.
Not for money, but for meaning.
Nine years since retirement.
Two years writing this book.
Five months of the two years translating it.
At last, the English edition of The Birth Revolution is complete.
It will fly across the world on its own.
Even if I depart tomorrow, I can now rest assured.
I pay back the debt of being born.
ㅡㅡㅡ
An old man who senses death holds a wish: to be remembered.
This body will rot and crumble anyway.
I began writing after retiring for two reasons:
to leave behind even a single line,
and to share happiness with others.
Now, the wish is fulfilled.
That’s enough. What more could an old man need?

Death is not the final stop of life.
It is life’s twin born together,
A companion that walks with life every moment,
A sentinel who stands watch at life’s end.
Life and death are not before and after.
Both are born together, live together, and die together.
Death is always by life’s side,
So life and death are one.
Therefore,
Do not fear life, and do not waste death.
Do not fear death, and do not waste life.

History will remember two revolutionaries:
“No” and “X.”
The Birth Revolution weighs more than
the French Revolution and the Industrial Revolution.
It is about the survival and prosperity of
nations and humanity itself,
while the others reshaped politics and production.

“No” Dedicated The Birth Revolution to “X.”
