Hockney in Luzern. First round for the pictures and the second for the people around it. Sometimes these people look as though they sprouted out of paintings. A rare trait of a painter, to be able to bend space and be so inclusive. Felt a bit overwhelmed standing in front of that grand, almost encyclopedic collage - what a genuine way to conceive an autobiography. Paintings in there (his LA studio) are nearly one-to-one size and those chairs, quirky trademark chairs, all vanish into their own unique universes. Many etchings, drawings and lithographs.
