8. 그러므로 나를 기다려라. 나 주의 말이다. 내가 증인으로 나설 날까지 기다려라. 내가 민족들을 불러모으고, 나라들을 모아서, 불같이 타오르는 나의 이 분노를 그들에게 쏟아 놓기로 결정하였다. 온 땅이 내 질투의 불에 타 없어질 것이다.
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination [is] to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, [even] all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
9. 그 때에는 내가 뭇 백성의 입술을 깨끗하게 하여, 그들이 다 나 주의 이름을 부르며 어깨를 나란히 하고 나를 섬기게 할 것이다.
For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
10. 에티오피아 강 저너머에서 나를 섬기는 사람들, 내가 흩어 보낸 사람들이, 나에게 예물을 가지고 올 것이다.
From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, [even] the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.
11. 그 날이 오면, 너는 나를 거역한 온갖 잘못을 부끄러워하지 않아도 될 것이다. 그 때에 내가 거만을 떨며 자랑을 일삼던 자를 이 도성에서 없애 버리겠다. 네가 다시는 나의 거룩한 산에서 거만을 떨지 않을 것이다.
In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
12. 그러나 내가 이 도성 안에 주의 이름을 의지하는 온순하고 겸손한 사람들을 남길 것이다.
I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.
