a Whipping Stick

Judges 20:28-48

28... The Lord responded, “Go, for tomorrow I will give them into your hands.”

I hope that this week of reading 'Judges' would end soon as it's not easy to see the Israelites killing one another without winning, but losing their lives and leaving it the worst civil war in their history. Then how hard God, as their Father and King as well, was hard to see them make themselves indulged in sins and crimes, ignoring Him, by disobeying His Word and not acknowledging Him as a King.

'In those days, Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit.'

This verse is the main sentence of describing the period of Judges, who couldn't play the good role of it well, as the only Judge is the King, the Lord himself. No one is perfecter or more righteous than Him. Nowadays, people seem to live as they see fit, in the same way as the people in time of Judges did, so I worry about this time of AI and Metaverse more than ever before.

My father hated seeing my 4 siblings fight one another, so when my brothers argued, or did fighting, he used to punish them with a gentle and quiet mode, but with a big stick. Watching them punished as the only girl, I kept the lesson in mind: Let's not fight each other and make a good relation with them. My heavenly Father also must have wanted His sons and daughters to go in harmony with the Word of Father and stay in peace and justice, honoring Him as their own Father.

For,“All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word that was preached to you. (Peter1:24-25)
