Goggle of Faith

John 2:1-12

2 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”, so they filled them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. 11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

Jesus' first miracle, changing water into wine, happened in a wedding banquet. Actually, he did not want to do it as His time had not yet come, but he did it as his mother asked. As a son of a woman, he looked obedient. In the other hand, he wanted to solve the problem of the wedding party, where the wine may be culturally a very important food in there. He must be generous and merciful to humans. One more interesting thing I see here is the faith of his mother and the servants as well.

Even though God wants to show any miraculous sings to us, if we do not trust and believe that it would happen anytime, or anywhere in life, we would never see or experience one of them. Honestly, I can tell that I experience these kinds of miracles at every time and everywhere, since I became a Christian. It does not mean that I believe in Jesus, due to the miracles happening in life, rather I experience them, because I am a Christian, a believer to Him.

Most of them, who are seeking God, say that they would believe Him, if they see Him with their own eyes, but it would never happen all their lifetime since He is unseen, and He is who He is. He is beyond our understanding. However, surprisingly, we could see Him through faith. The first and foremost thing we do is to see our inner self with the gear or goggle of faith on, and then we are able to see and experience the heaven in this earthly life as well as His presence.
