How to know God
Psalms 74:12-23
12 But you, O God, are my king from of old; you bring salvation upon the earth.13It was you who split open the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the monster in the waters.14It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave him as food to the creatures of the desert.15It was you who opened up springs and streams; you dried up the ever flowing rivers.16 The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon.17It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter.18 Remember how the enemy has mocked you, O LORD, how foolish people have reviled your name.19Do not hand over the life of your dove to wild beasts; do not forget the lives of your afflicted people forever.20 Have regard for your covenant, because haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land.21Do not let the oppressed retreat in disgrace; may the poor and needy praise your name.22 Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long.23Do not ignore the clamor of your adversaries, the uproar of your enemies, which rises continually.
There seem to be two kinds of people on earth: those who are praising God or mocking God. No one knows God for sure as we never see Him face to face, then how could we believers tell that we know Him? Actually, it does not make sense that we say that we know God, who is the creator of all the creatures. There are too many gaps between the creator and the creatures.
One of the sisters in my NIV members said one day, " You, sisters, know of God!" What does it mean? Nobody saw God in person, and if we did, we couldn't live a life today. Then why is she saying like that? The answer is that we all see God through faith, and the faith comes from the promises in the bible and Jesus' ministry made them all complete: dying on the cross and resurrection. We all see these with faith and also look forward to seeing His second coming.
As Jesus said, In case we are like children, we can have faith on Him and could go to Heaven. Whenever we get more knowledge in order to defend and mock God, or deny the bible itself, as well as Christians, we'll see that there are more and more mysteries in this universe and there are more chances of praising God Himself. Let us just see Him through a pure heart and believe Him as our Creator, and let us acknowledge that we are just creatures of Him, but made wonderful and good in His own eyes.
