Humbling

Psalms 75:1-10

Psalm 75

For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A psalm of Asaph. A song.

1 We praise you, God,  we praise you, for your Name is near;
    people tell of your wonderful deeds.

2 You say, “I choose the appointed time;  it is I who judge with equity.

3 When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm.

4 To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.

5 Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak so defiantly.’”

6 No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves.
7 It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.
8 In the hand of the Lord is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices;
he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs.

9 As for me, I will declare this forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,
10 who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked,
    but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”

It is God who judges between the humble and the arrogant, brings the latter down, and exalts the first, the humble. They are like the mixed and foamed wine, so it's not easy to divide into two and take them apart. However, at the appointed time, when He judges with equity, He would say, to the arrogant and to the wicked, "Boast no more," "Do not lift up your horns. Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak so defiantly.”

God says that the arrogant means the wicked. In His perspective, the arrogant is similar  to the wicked, as they are opposing against Him, the creator. Who could be more arrogant than the ones who are denying God, which means they themselves could be god himself. So there are no chances that they could be believers or Christians, making their destiny to be judged by God at the last day.

Then, how could I humble myself before God. First, I acknowledge that He is majestic and generous to all who come closer to Him. Second, I confess my sins that I can't take away for myself and give thanks to Jesus who has forgiven my sins. Third, I exalt Him whenever I have time and chances with voices and music. Fourth, I have mercy and compassion on the poor and the weak, as Jesus did and asked us to help and love them. Humbling myself is not saying like "I am poor, or weak, or blind", rather saying that I am rich, strong, and I can see now, thanks to Him!

I lift up my voices, singing " I praise the Lord!" Hallelujah!
