Psalms 78:1-11

A maskil of  Asaph.

(The maskil is probably a literary or musical term.)

1 My people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old—
3 things we have heard and known,  things our ancestors have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.
5 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors  to teach their children,
6 so the next generation would know them,  even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.
7 Then they would put their trust in God  and would not forget his deeds
    but would keep his commands.
8 They would not be like their ancestors—  a stubborn and rebellious generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,  whose spirits were not faithful to him.

9 The men of Ephraim, though armed with bows, turned back on the day of battle;
10 they did not keep God’s covenant and refused to live by his law.
11 They forgot what he had done, the wonders he had shown them.

Law is made for people to live with harmony and in peace, but we sometimes feel that they are too harsh to keep them all. Likewise, the law of God makes the children feel like that. I mean it's too hard to keep them all. Actually, the modern law was affected by the law of God, whcih I knew that through a book about the history of the Law. Then, why did God, the generous Father make it and let us feel like chained around it.

I made it a rule to come home by midnight to my children, about which they have been complaining. I made it for them, because I love and want to protect them from any danger or avoid any kinds of risk that could happen in life. In a word, I did it because of love. My Heavenly Father has the same idea about us as He knows me well more than I do. I have a sinful nature, so there is nothing pure or faithful in my heart, forgetting the love of Father and what He has done to me.

Therefore, the law of God is necessary for myself. If He didn't allow it to be seen and read by day, I couldn't have lived like this, being closer to Him and giving thanks to Him,  staying in His safe and peaceful arms. Moreover, I would never know how to love others except me and my family. Also I could become a stubborn and rebellious girl before you, filling my heart with pride and loyalty to myself. Thanks, dad, for giving me this safe and perfect guideline that has led me to live this wonderful life, not getting lost. Your Word is the super good Navigation to me, which never gets old and automatically up-dated and guides me to the right place, the Heaven.
