God's intention

Leviticus 10:12-20

12 Moses said to Aaron and his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, “Take the grain offering left over from the food offerings prepared without yeast and presented to the Lord and eat it beside the altar, for it is most holy. 13 Eat it in the sanctuary area, because it is your share and your sons’ share of the food offerings presented to the Lord; for so I have been commanded. 14 But you and your sons and your daughters may eat the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented. Eat them in a ceremonially clean place; they have been given to you and your children as your share of the Israelites’ fellowship offerings. 15 The thigh that was presented and the breast that was waved must be brought with the fat portions of the food offerings, to be waved before the Lord as a wave offering. This will be the perpetual share for you and your children, as the Lord has commanded.”16 When Moses inquired about the goat of the sin offering and found that it had been burned up, he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s remaining sons, and asked, 17 “Why didn’t you eat the sin offering in the sanctuary area? It is most holy; it was given to you to take away the guilt of the community by making atonement for them before the Lord. 18 Since its blood was not taken into the Holy Place, you should have eaten the goat in the sanctuary area, as I commanded.” 19 Aaron replied to Moses, “Today they sacrificed their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord, but such things as this have happened to me. Would the Lord have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering today?” 20 When Moses heard this, he was satisfied.

Aron's two left sons did not eat the food that they had to eat after the sin offering and burnt offering, which was not commanded from God. However, Aron excused for that, saying quote, "Would the Lord have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering today?” He must have been sad and terrible to see his two other sons dead in a sanctuary, before. Now when his two left sons did the sacrifices, how could he feel about the ceremony?

They could have done it with fear or awe, or anxiety or worries, and they didn't have any tastes for the food as God had commanded to eat, so they burnt it all on the altar. I understand them a bit, but one thing that's interesting is that Moses' reaction to this word. He was satisfied. He had been very strict to the Word of God, but now he looked very generous enough to accept Aron's excuses for his two sons.

God's intention is not easy to understand, but the core of it is that He loves and cares for His own people. He is not too strict for His own people to keep them all without any excuse in any circumstances. The problem happens when we never try to understand or obey His word, disregarding His presence and His plan for us. I believe that God, my Father, knows my limitations and the lack of wisdom as a human being, so He would be pleased to see me just listening to His voice and getting closer to Him.

In a nutshell, I'd be pleased to be closer to my Father, and enjoy everything that has been given to me as a precious child, and I would like to share them with my neighbors as well.  Today, I pray for those who are suffering from the terror and pains from the war in Ukraine and Myanmar. I hope that all the justice and the righteouness of God may spread over them and get them restored peacefully and in the unity of groups for peace. I pray that God's hand may hold on to them at this moment.
