24. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 나는 이스라엘 집의 잃어 버린 양 외에는 다른데로 보내심을 받지 아니하였노라 하신대
24. He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
25. 여자가 와서 예수께 절하며 가로되 주여 저를 도우소서
25. The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26. 대답하여 가라사대 자녀의 떡을 취하여 개들에게 던짐이 마땅치 아니하니라
26. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27. 여자가 가로되 주여 옳소이다마는 개들도 제 주인의 상에서 떨어지는 부스러기를 먹나이다 하니
27. “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28. 이에 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 여자야 네 믿음이 크도다 네 소원대로 되리라 하시니 그 시로부터 그의 딸이 나으니라
28. Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
This Cananite woman seems to show me how to ask God for what I want. I have prayed for my children's faith for a long time, but it seems to take longer than I expect, rather worse or weaker than before. I have tried many ways to teach them, but it doesn't work well. As the world is very wicked and the evil powers are very strong, I feel like I can't endure it longer and I can't spiritually win over them.
Looking back on this woman's attitude of keep asking and begging for her demon-possessed daughter, she must have had faith toward Jesus, and there was also no other hope.
I think that I will have to pray with the attitude or mindset of this woman: Never give up and keep praying with hope and faith, and with a humble heart. I can't do this, only You can do it.
Father, I put my children's soul and life to Your two hands. For Your sake, let them have a stable faith and let them become Your true followers and Christians. Let them meet a good and faithful spousers and connect the genealogy of faith, I pray in Jesus name, amen.
