로마서(Rom) 4장

6. 일한 것이 없이 하나님께 의로 여기심을 받는 사람의 복에 대하여 다윗이 말한 바

6. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

7. 불법이 사함을 받고 죄가 가리어짐을 받는 사람들은 복이 있고

7. “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

8. 주께서 그 죄를 인정하지 아니하실 사람은 복이 있도다 함과 같으니라

8. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”

Everyone of us in the world wants to get blessed from God or even gods about whom we never know. Then, what kind of blessings are we seeking? Not to mention it, they could be physical health, including longevity, material wealth, many talents and  good appearances, and social relationships with much honor from men, etc.

David, the greatest king of the Israelites, who was blessed the most and enjoyed all kinds of blessings like these things, was saying of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works.

Yet, in reality, he did many great works in his time and much more for the next generations. Accordingly, he was not saying only for faith toward God, but he was emphasizing the value and the meaning of trusting God more than anything he had done before.

Why? Because no one could be forgiven or cover our sins, though we go to the jail when we commit any crimes. Our sins are to be counted and judged by Him sooner or later, though there are still many who never know about sins.

Father, I have been trying to do something for You, but I realize that trusting You is above more than anything I do in Your name. I am thankful for Your grace of forgiving my sins, so, as one of the blessed man, I will always have to honor Your name, which is the life of the most blessed on earth.
