King of kings

Judges 17:1-13

5 Now this man Micah had a shrine, and he made an ephod and some household gods and installed one of his sons as his priest. 6 In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit.

Micah's family shows for sure how the people of that time were strayed without any rules or any other standard of life. It was because they had no king, so everyone did as they saw it was good or fit. Strangely to say, they always had their own king, God, who led their lives, but they just forgot Him and His word as well. The idols they have seen and lived with made them too blind to see Him and too deaf to hear His voice. It was already warned by God from the beginning of them coming into the land, Canaan, filled with idols.

Sadly, this family is not that special, I mean, it could symbolize our modern and normal family as well, serving gods as we see fit, making ephod, the clothes of a priest, and offering money that was stolen, and even making our own son a priest for ourselves, etc., although we say that we believe in God. Like as Micah did say, "Now I know that the Lord will be good to me, since this Levite has become my priest.", we could be satisfied with our own style of belief, not remembering His Word, through which He kept telling us how to live on our lives on earth.

We also might think that we should live as our own way as the time passed by from Him, who is not our King any longer, and His Words are out of date. We are living an AI or a Metaverse Period! Moreover, we all have kings of each nation, so we do not need any other king. And we all know everything from the web sites, so we do not need any other wisdom to depend on. However, His Word lasts forever, and He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end of this universe. I believe that He is the only King of kings of the world and the only source of wisdom that is beyond my understanding.

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written on it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
