Most Asian countries are experiencing disruptions in crude oil supply due to the war in the Middle East, and this support aims to help Southeast Asia procure oil from other sources, such as the United States.
Southeast Asia manufactures various oil derivatives, ranging from plastics to clothing.
Japan is particularly facing difficulties in supplying oil-derived medical equipment (e.g., hemodialysis machines, waste fluid containers, surgical gloves), leading patient and medical professional groups to issue a joint statement urging the securing of supplies.
Japan intends to strengthen its own industries and supply chains through this support.
