A top data officer with the Social Security Administration says the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE put the personal information of more than 300 million Americans at risk by uploading extensive data onto a cloud server. In a whistleblower complaint, the SSA's Chief Data Officer says the database included records of all social security numbers, plus full names, birthdates, and other personal information. He didn't indicate that the database had been breached, and the SSA said in a statement that it stores all personal data in secure environments and that it's not aware of any compromise to this environment.
