Internship report by Rand
Changdeokgung Palace, where kings and their ministers discussed state affairs to effectively reign over the people, and where the royal family resided, is the most preserved palace of all the royal palaces from the Joseon Dynasty.
I understood why this palace is well-preserved the most I stepped foot in it! This palace is so beautiful, the buildings are surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. The gardens are what make this palace so pretty and so unique to itself.
As always, inside the palace, you have a public palace area, a royal family residence building, and a rear garden. You will also find a back garden showcasing a 300-year-old giant tree, a small pond, and a pavilion as this palace was a place for rest for the kings.
Thus, you have to visit the Secret Garden, the place of rest for the kings!! I visited during spring and all the plants where bloomed, there were different types of trees and plants. Nature harmonizes perfectly with the beautiful traditional buildings, therefore, you will see everybody taking pictures with their longs selfie sticks or tripods to take professional pictures.
Moreover, I remind you that coming with a Hanbok enables you free entrance. Even if the entrance is not expensive, coming with a hanbok is more mesmerizing, you can be immersed in the Korean culture.
Well, you have to visit the palace to really understand the prettiness! Add Changdeokgung palace to your bucket list.
