After securing its 4th position in the Premier League by defeating Norwich with an outstanding 0-5 and Son Heung-min receiving his Golden Boot (award for most goals in the Premier League), Tottenham Hotspur also secured its place in the UEFA Champions League. Now the season is over, Tottenham Hotspur will visit South Korea for the off-season. With its first match on 13 July, 2022 in the Seoul World Cup Stadium against the K-League team which consists of the best players the Korea professional league (K리그1) has to offer.
The exhibition match is presented by Coupang Play Series and with four official supporters clubs in South Korea, this will present the opportunity for fans to have a chance to meet the Tottenham players in South Korea, especially the home hero, Son Heung-min. Coupang will organize events for this occasion. With ticket details still yet to be announced, the second exhibition match that Tottenham Hotspur will play against is Sevilla FC on 16 July in the Suwon World Cup Stadium. With both teams qualified for the UEFA Champions League and both finishing 4th in their respective league, this will be an exciting match to watch.
With an established partnership together with Korea Tourism Organisation, leading up to the tour there were already messages being displayed in the Tottenham stadium with the message to encourage fans to visit the Men's first team in Korea with #JoinSpursinKorea. This gives a great opportunity for Korea to attract more international visitors again since its reopening for fully vaccinated persons back in April. Additionally, this boasts an opportunity for Son Heung-min to introduce his culture and sights to his teammates.
