Note:
수도원의 프레스코를 보면서 아마도 어려서 죽은 형제를 (필자의 상상) 그리워하는 듯 그렇게 시가 느껴진다.
Kalenić는 Destop Stefan Lazarević 공작 Bogdan이 세웠다. Kalenić는 모라비아 학파의 일부였던 가장 화려하게 장식된 교회이다. 프레스코화는 밝은 색으로 칠했고 노란색 등 완전히 새로운 색을 도입했다. 서정적인 주제가 벽의 프레스코에 매료되는 것도 이 때문이다.

*After their defeat of the Balkan Christian armies at the Field of the Blackbirds (Kosovo polje) in 1389, the Ottoman Turks were unable to follow up their victory because of the incursions of Tamburlaine in the East. In the ensuing lull, Serbia, though officially an Ottoman vassal state, still had a certain illlusory degree of control over its own destiny. Under the rule of the Despot Stefan Lazarebic, several fine monasteries were built, among them Kalenic (between about 1407 and 1413). Any Serbian dreams of independence, however, were shattered with the rallying of the Ottoman Empire under Mohammed II the Conqueror, culminating in the fall of Constantinople in 1453 - upon which, in 1459, Serbia became an Ottoman province.
