약사(藥師)의 들판
하얀 도시에서
당신 늙은 목자(牧者)를 만났네
당신은 자정이 조금 넘은 시간을 지나고 있었네

I met you old man shepherd
In the white town
You were passing a little after midnight
Through the burning field of Apothecaries
Between the shadows of houses and limetrres
You were carrying a live wolfling on your shoulders
Playing on a lime leaf
Two sparks were dancing over your sheepskin
Kissing your red beard and your hands
I didn't try to stop you
I'd have hit my head on an old limetree
I didn't want to get involved
In apothecaries' business
Their fire here has a guilty conscience
I picked a leaf from a limetree
And took up your melody
