난는 Facebook을 사랑하는 대한민국 이용자입니다.
나는 오랫동안 대학에서 철학을 가르쳤고 지금은 은퇴하여 연구와 저술 활동을 이어가고 있는 철학자입니다.
나는 현재 연세대학교 인문학연구소에서 연구원으로 일하고 있습니다.
나는 10년이 넘도록 오랫동안 페이스 북을 사용해왔습니다.
그동안 제가 페이스 북에서 활동을 하면서 올린 글들을 가지고 이미 책도 2권(<철학과 비판>(도서 출판 수류화개, 2021), <일상이 철학이다>, 도서 출판 모시는 사람들, 2023)을 출판한 적도 있습니다.
주로 철학과 사상에 관해 써온 저의 글에 대해 페북의 많은 친구들이 좋아하고 성원도 많이 해주고 있습니다.
한국의 페이스 북 사용자 중에서 저만큼 열심히 그리고 양질의 포스팅을 한 사람이 얼마나 되겠냐고 생각할 만큼 저의 포스팅에 대해 자부심도 많이 가지고 있습니다.
그런데 며칠 전부터 갑자기 제가 운영하는 <노장의 꿈 시즌 2>에서 사이버 보안에 관한 규정을 어겨 계정 제한한다는 메시지를 받아서 사용을 하고 있습니다. 이 그룹은 구성원이 180여 명 정도 되는데 여기에 올라오는 글은 한국의 대표적인 철학자 이기상 교수의 철학 관련 글과 제가 쓰는 문학과 철학 그리고 역사에 관한 글들입니다. 저는 흔한 정치에 관한 포스팅도 이념적 갈등이 심해 하지 않고 있습니다.
왜 이런 제한이 떨어지는지 정말 알 수가 없습니다.
그냥 늘 해오던 방식으로 비슷한 글들을 올리고 있는데 어느 날 갑자기 '사이버 보안' 위반이라고 하는지 이해를 할 수 없습니다.
이런 말들은 아주 애매하고 모호한 경고인데, 구체적인 설명이 전혀 따르지 않고 있습니다.
교통 범칙금 딱지 하나 떼는 데도 확실한 증거를 제시하는 데 글로벌 공론 장인 페이스 북이 아무런 증거도 없이 무차별적으로 이런 제한을 해도 되는지 이해할 수 없습니다.
이의 제기를 하면 답변은 하지 않고 계속 경고하고 사용 제한 일수만 늘리고 있습니다. 현재는 2일 제한에서 무려 30일 제한으로 늘어난 상태입니다.
지금은 페이스 북에 글을 올리지도 않는데 불구하고 그룹이 포스팅 위반을 했다고 하루가 다르게 경고를 합니다.
이런 제한과 경고를 검토해 본 결과 그것은 페이스 북의 AI 알고리즘의 기계적인 방식인 것 같습니다.
사람이 하는 행동이라면 이렇게 무차별적으로 조치를 취하지는 않겠지요.
그래서 담당자한테 이메일로 자초 지종을 설명하면 전혀 응답이 없습니다.
과연 이런 행태가 글로벌 기업인 페이스 북의 관리 시스템인지 의문이 듭니다.
이런 행태는 관리를 가장한 페이스 북의 명백한 폭력이자 월권입니다.
페이스 북은 세계의 수많은 참여자들이 매일 같이 글을 올리면서 소통하는 글로벌한 플랫폼입니다. 이러한 플랫폼은 페이스 북 회사만의 소유물이 아닙니다.
정말 양질의 포스팅을 하면서 오랫동안 페북을 위해 충성을 해 왔는데 공로상은 아니고 이런 식으로 불이익을 주는 처사를 알 수가 없습니다.
나의 그간 포스팅을 검토해 보면 당장 알 수 있는 사안입니다.
나는 10여 년 동안 활동을 하면서 이런 경고와 제한을 받은 적이 말 그대로 한 번도 없습니다.
어느 날 갑자기 페북의 알고리즘이 혼선과 혼동을 하면서 나타난 돌발적 현상인지 전혀 알 길이 없습니다.
사진 몇 장을 첨부할 터이니 검토를 하시고 합리적인 답변을 해주시길 바랍니다.
페북은 바로 응답하겠다고 해놓고서 한 번도 제대로 된 응답을 한 적이 없습니다.
페이스 북을 아끼는는 개인 사용자가 오죽하면 최고 책임자에게 까지 이런 메일을 보내는 가를 고려해 주시기를 바랍니다.

I'm a South Korean user who loves Facebook. I'm a philosopher who taught philosophy at a university for many years, and am now retired and continuing to research and write.
I am currently a researcher at the Institute for the Humanities at Yonsei University.
Many of my friends on Facebook have liked and supported my writings, which are mainly about philosophy and thought.
I also take a lot of pride in my posts, thinking that there are few people in Korea who post as hard and as well as I do.
However, a few days ago, I suddenly received a message that the group I run, <The Dream of the Old Man Season 2>, has been banned for violating cybersecurity rules. The group has about 180 members, and the posts here are about the philosophy of Professor Lee Ki-sang, a leading Korean philosopher, as well as my own writings on literature, philosophy, and history. I even don't post about politics, which is common, nor do I post about ideological conflicts.
I really don't know why I'm being restricted.
I can't understand why I'm just posting the same stuff I've always posted and suddenly it's a "cybersecurity" violation.
It's a very vague and ambiguous warning, and it's not followed by any specific evidence.
I don't understand how Facebook, a global public forum, can indiscriminately impose restrictions like this without any evidence, when it would take me a year to get a traffic ticket.
When I appeal, they don't respond, they just keep warning me and increasing the number of days I'm banned. Currently, it's gone from a 2-day limit to a whopping 30-day limit.
I don't even post on Facebook anymore, yet they warn me every single day that the group is in violation.
After reviewing these limits and warnings, it seems to be a mechanical behavior of Facebook's AI algorithm.
A human wouldn't take such indiscriminate action.
So I emailed a representative to explain my frustration and got no response.
I question whether this is the way Facebook manages a global company.
This is outright abusive behavior by Facebook under the guise of management.
Facebook is a global platform where people from all over the world post and interact with each other on a daily basis. This platform is not owned by the Facebook company alone.
I've been loyal to Facebook for a long time with really high quality posts, and I don't understand how they can penalize me in this way, let alone for merit.
This is immediately apparent if you review my history of posts.
I've literally never gotten warnings and restrictions like this in my 10 years of activity.
I have no way of knowing if this is some kind of a blip that Facebook's algorithms got confused and mixed up one day.
I'm attaching a few photos so you can review them and give me a reasonable response.
Facebook has never responded when they say they'll get right back to us.
I hope you will consider sending this to the highest level of Facebook, even if it is just an individual user who cares about Facebook.
