strange dream
It never felt like a dream.
It felt like a place I had been before.
I should have been scared,
but the dream felt strangely calm.
She was already there when I arrived.
The room was half flooded with water.
We were running away
from the people behind us.
I have no idea how I knew,
but we were looking for a stairway
that hadn’t been touched by the water.
And then I woke up in the middle of it.
Like every night,
I dreamed the same dream
over and over again.
But today was different.
We were still running.
The room was
almost completely filled with water.
And then, we found the stairway.
“This way!”she shouted.
I followed her.
The stairway led to another stairway
deep inside the dungeon.
It looked like a labyrinth.
One path led to another, again and again.
She went pretty fast,
so it was hard for me to keep track of her.
But surprisingly,
I wasn’t lost.
She led me to the center of the dungeon.
There was a spinning wheel, a mirror,
and a small ring.
She said,
“I must send you home quickly.
I have to reflect the light into the mirror,
and then into the ring.”
She moved the mirror,
catching the light from
a small steel-barred windowand directing it into the ring, and came towards me.
And I woke up from that dream
