북한 외무상과 푸틴 대통령 회담을 로이터와 AP가 보도하고 요미우리는 윤석열 대통령이 북한의 '주적' 발표에 ‘반민족적 반역사적’이라 반발하고 북한 미사일 발사에 응징을 밝혔다고 보도했다. 

북한 외무상은 16일 러시아와의 동지적 유대를 칭찬한 후 블라디미르 푸틴 대통령과 크렘린에서 드문 회담을 가졌고, 푸틴과 김정은의 구애는 우크라이나 전쟁 위한 대포의 풍부한 공급을 확보에서 워싱턴과 아시아 동맹국들을 바늘로 찌를 수 있게 해준다고 로이터가 밝혔다.

요미우리는 이어 “윤석열 대통령은 16일 각료회의에서 김정은 연설에 대해 ‘북한이 반민족적, 반역사적 집단이라는 것을 인식하고 있다’고 반발했다”며 “그는 14일 중거리 탄도미사일 발사 등 북한의 도발에 대해 ‘여러 차례 응징할 것’이라 경고했다”고 밝혔다.

로이터는 이어 “한국의 윤 대통령은 각료회의에서 북한이 남한을 적대국이라고 부르는 것에 대해 ‘반국가적’이라 말했다”고 밝혔다.

신 장관은 16일 KBS 인터뷰에서 ‘한반도 전쟁’ 주장에 대해 “북한의 심리전에 말려들고, 가짜 평화, 북한 입장 두둔하기, 북한에 퍼주기 등 수십년간 북한에 잘못해온 실수를 반복할 우려가 있기 때문에 냉정하게 봐야 한다”며 “최근 북한 상황을 보면 전면전은 아니더라도 국지도발을 시도할 가능성이 매우 높다. 우리나라에 대해선 직접 군사도발을 하거나 대규모 해킹, 사이버 심리전, 회색지대 도발을 할 것”이라 ‘국지전’을 예측했다. 

신 장관은 이어 한국전쟁 때와 대비해 “지금은 강력한 한미동맹이 있다. 당시 북한의 재래식 능력과 전쟁 지속능력이 대한민국을 압도했는데, 지금은 대한민국이 훨씬 더 우위에 서 있다”며 “북한이 유일하게 핵 개발했단 것인데, 그보다 강한 미국의 핵을 한·미가 함께 하는 확장억제로 능력 갖고 있다. 북한의 공갈이나 위협에 대해 최악의 상황을 상정해 철저히 대비하고 있다. 북한이 잘못된 결정하면 북한 지도부는 최단시간 내에 종말 고하게 될 것”이라 밝혔다. kimjc00@hanmail.net
