미 국방정보국이 ‘이란핵시설 파괴 실패’ 보고를 내고 트럼프 대통령은 의회 보고를 연기했다.
국방정보국(Defense Intelligence Agency, DIA)의 보고서는 이란 핵 프로그램 6개월 지연으로 추정했고, “이란의 농축 우라늄 비축량 중 상당 부분이 공습 전에 옮겨졌으며 이로 인해 핵 물질이 거의 파괴되지 않았다”고 밝혔다고 CNN이 25일 보도했다.
뉴욕타임스는 “미국의 예비 기밀 보고서에 따르면 미국이 이란의 핵 시설 세 곳을 폭격한 것은 이란의 핵 프로그램을 단지 몇 개월 앞당겼을 뿐이라고 이 조사 결과에 정통한 관계자가 밝혔다”며 “이번 공습으로 시설 중 두 곳의 출입구가 봉쇄됐지만 지하 건물은 무너지지는 않았다고 관계자들은 초기 조사 결과를 결론지었다”고 25일 밝혔다.

The US Defense Intelligence Agency released a report on the ‘Failure to Destroy Iranian Nuclear Facilities’ and President Trump has postponed the report to Congress.
The report by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) estimated that Iran’s nuclear program was delayed by six months and stated that “a significant portion of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was moved before the airstrikes, leaving little nuclear material destroyed,” CNN reported on the 25th.
The New York Times reported on the 25th that “A preliminary classified US report suggests that the US bombing of three Iranian nuclear facilities only advanced Iran’s nuclear program by a few months, according to a person familiar with the investigation,” and “The initial investigation concluded that the airstrikes sealed off two entrances to the facilities, but did not collapse the underground buildings,” the officials said. Before the US bombings, US intelligence agencies said it would take Iran about three months to build a bomb if it tried to rush it, and after several days of US bombings and Israeli air strikes, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) released a preliminary report, which was subsequently leaked by US media outlets.
The report said that “a significant portion of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was moved before the strikes, leaving little nuclear material untouched,” and that “three nuclear plants—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan—suffered moderate to severe damage, with the Natanz facility suffering the most damage.”
“Many military bomb experts say it would take more than a day of bombing to complete the job,” the New York Times reported, adding that “early damage assessments suggest that President Trump’s claims that Iran’s nuclear facilities were ‘completely eliminated’ are exaggerated.” The U.S. Congress was scheduled to receive a briefing on the attack on Tuesday, and lawmakers were scheduled to ask questions about the findings, but the congressional report has been postponed, and senators are scheduled to receive a briefing on Thursday, and House members are scheduled to receive a briefing on Friday, the Times reported.
“Current and former military officials had warned before the strike that any attempt to destroy the Fordo facility, which is buried more than 250 feet under the mountain, would require waves of airstrikes pounding the same spot for days or even weeks,” the Times reported. “The strike severely damaged Fordo’s electrical system, officials said, and it is unclear how long it would take Iran to access the underground building, repair the electrical system, and reinstall the displaced equipment,” the Times said, calling the strike a “failure.”

President Trump has been using the word “obliterated” since before he received his first combat damage report since taking office, and has been closely monitoring whether anyone in his administration has used the term “obliterated,” the Times reported.
“Israel has suffered a harsh and historic punishment in the war that began on June 13, and has failed to achieve its evil goals of destroying its facilities, dismantling its nuclear expertise, and inciting social unrest,” Iranian President Masoud Fezeshkan said in a statement on Monday. “Today, following your courageous resistance, this great and history-making nation witnesses a ceasefire and an end to the 12-day war forced upon the Iranian people by the recklessness and belligerence of the Zionist regime,” the state-run news agency IRNA reported. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement on the 24th that Israel had achieved “all objectives” of its campaign in Iran, including eliminating the “immediate” threat of nuclear weapons development and the threat to Israel’s security posed by Iranian ballistic missiles.
In a statement to the nation on the same day, the Iranian president said the loss of “women, children, scientists, brave military commanders” and the damage to some infrastructure had dealt a “serious blow” to the country.
The Iranian Health Ministry said on the 24th that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes had exceeded 600.
The New York Times reported that Iranian President Fezeshkian told the leader of the United Arab Emirates in a telephone conversation on the 24th that Iran was “ready to resolve the issue at the negotiating table and within the international framework.”
