이재명 민주당 대선 후보가 ‘한반도 거주자’의 평화를 말하고 미 국무차관보는 ‘한반도 지역 안보’로 격차를 드러냈다.

11일 민주당사 면담에서 공개된 발언은 이 후보가 "한반도 평화 문제는 대한민국, 한반도에 사는 많은 사람들의 생존이 걸린 중대한 일"이라고 남북한 거주자의 평화를 밝혔고, 대니얼 크리튼브링크 동아시아·태평양 차관보는 “정부에서 강력한 동맹관계를 목표로 삼고 있으며 한국을 포함한 여러 동맹국, 한반도지역 안보 및 국방에 대해서 중요하게 생각하고 있다는 것"이라 각각 밝혔다.

이 후보는 면담에서 "한미동맹이 좀 더 고도화되고, 또 합리적으로 발전하는 좋은 계기가 되길 바란다"면서 "한반도 평화 문제는 대한민국, 한반도에 사는 많은 사람들의 생존이 걸린 중대한 일"이라 말하고 이어 "미국 정부의 대한민국 정부에 대한 경제적, 군사적 측면에서의 지원과 협력에 대해 감사 말씀을 드린다"며 "앞으로 한미동맹이 경제동맹으로, 글로벌파트너십으로 계속 성장, 발전해 나가길 기대한다. 얼마 전 있었던 한미정상 간 합의가 충실하게 이뤄져서 한미관계가 훨씬 더 합리적으로 성장, 발전하게 되길 기대한다"고 밝혔다.
