정은경 질병청장이 ‘대규모 확진 격리자 대응’의 새 방역 가동에 ‘가족 2차 발병 높아 국민 동참’을 요구했다.

정 청장은 7일 "기존의 선제적이고 촘촘한 3T(검사-추적-치료) 전략에서 대규모 확진자·격리자 발생에 대응하면서 사회필수기능 유지에 집중하는 방향으로 방역대응 전략 전환할 계획"이라며, 오미크론 변이 유행 대응에서 "전파력은 델타 변이에 비해 2배 이상 높고 가족 중의 2차 발병률도 델타 변이와 비교해 매우 높은 것으로 나타나고 있다"며 “국민여러분들에게 정부 방역대응 동참 당부"를 밝혀, 감염자 개인에 사법권으로 사회 통제 적용하는 K방역을 무력화했다.

새 방역 시행에 대해 정 청장은 정례브리핑에서 "높은 전파력을 보이는 오미크론 변이의 영향으로 2월 말경 국내 확진자가 13만명에서 17만명 수준까지도 발생할 수 있을 것으로 전망한다"며 정부가 새 정책으로 오미크론 변이의 특성에 의거해 역학조사와 재택치료 모니터링을 변형하고 동거가족 격리 단축 시행을 가동했다.
정 청장은 오미크론 변이에 대해 “2월 1주차 검출률은 92.1%로 빠르게 증가했다”며 "오미크론 변이의 중증화율과 치명률은 델타 변이에 비해 3분의 1에서 5분의 1 수준으로 평가되고 있지만 60세 이상에서의 발생이 위중증·사망에 영향 주는 것으로 판단하고 있다"고 말해, 고령자 중증화가 약화되지 않았다는 자체 판단을 공개했다.

문재인 대통령은 7일 청와대 중대본 회의에서 “선제적으로 개편하며 준비해 온 오미크론 대응체계를 계획대로 전면 가동하면서 보완의 필요성을 점검”하라며 “정부를 믿고 함께 힘을 모아준다면 우리는 더 빠르게 일상회복으로 나아갈 수 있을 것”이라 말했다.

정부는 이날 가족감염을 방역에서 제외하며 입원환자 가족 간병인 추가에 대한 의무 PCR검사비를 유료로 전환했다.
