김중곤 질명청 예방접종피해조사반장(서울의료원 소아청소년과 교수)은 발표에서 "8명의 각 의료 전문가들을 바탕으로 예방접종피해조사반이 구성됐다. 백신 자체의 이상 여부, 백신에 의한 중증 이상반응, 사망자가 갖고 계셨던 기저질환 유무를 검토한 결과 예방접종 후 이상반응과 사망의 관련성은 인정되기 어렵다는 잠정 결론을 내렸다"고 이날 밝혔다.
