한국의 설날은 단순한 새해가 아니라, 오래된 시간과 새로운 시간이 조용히 만나는 순간입니다.
설날에는 가족이 한자리에 모여 안부를 묻고, 아이들은 한복을 입고 세배를 올리며 감사와 존경을 전합니다. 어른들은 덕담과 따뜻한 마음을 건넵니다. 한 그릇의 떡국을 나누며 나이를 더한다기보다 함께 시간을 살아냈음을 기념하는 풍경이 설날의 풍경입니다.
차갑지만 맑은 설날 아침, 부엌에서 국물이 끓는 소리와 정갈하게 차려진 음식, 서로를 향한 깊은 인사가 마음을 따뜻하게 합니다. 빠르게 흘러가는 시대 속에서도, 누군가를 향해 천천히 고개를 숙이는 문화가 여전히 살아 있다는 것을 느낄 수 있습니다.

When darkness is at its deepest, we welcome the New Year.
Korean Seollal is not just the start of a new year, but a quiet moment where the old and the new come together.
During Seollal, families gather to check in on one another, children dress in hanbok and perform a respectful bow to express gratitude and respect, and elders offer warm words and blessings. Sharing a bowl of tteokguk, the focus is less on adding a year to one’s age and more on celebrating the time we have lived together—this is the essence of Seollal.
On a cold yet clear Seollal morning, the sound of soup simmering in the kitchen, neatly prepared dishes, and heartfelt gestures toward one another fill the heart with warmth. Even in our fast-moving world, we are reminded that the culture of pausing, bowing slowly, and showing care for others still lives on.
