물가에 심어진 나무

때로는 의지를 내려놓고 기다려야 할 때가 있고

멈춰 서거나, 천천히 걸어가야 할 때가 있다.

그저 달이 차오르기를 기다리고

나무의 키가 자라기를 기다릴 필요가 있다.

바람이 불어오면 그렇게

그 바람의 파동에 몸을 맡겨야 할 때가 있다.

삶이라는 여정에는 때로 그래야 할 때가 있다.

[예레미아서 17:5-8]

여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라. 무릇 사람을 믿으며 육신으로 그의 힘을 삼고 마음이 여호와에게서 떠난 그 사람은 저주를 받을 것이라.

그는 사막의 떨기나무 같아서 좋은 일이 오는 것을 보지 못하고 광야 간조한 곳, 건건한 땅, 사람이 살지 않는 땅에 살리라.

그러나 무릇 여호와를 의지하며 여호와를 의뢰하는 그 사람은 복을 받을 것이라.

그는 물가에 심어진 나무가 그 뿌리를 강변에 뻗치고 더위가 올지라도 두려워하지 아니하며 그 잎이 청청하며 가무는 해에도 걱정이 없고 결실이 그치지 아니함과 같으리라.

This is what the Lord says:

Bad things will happen to those who put their trust in people. Bad things will happen those who depend on human strength. That is because they have stopped trusting the Lord.

They are like a bush in a desert where no one lives. It is in a hot and dry land. It is in bad soil. That bush does not know about the good things that God can give.

But those who trust in the Lord will be blessed. They know that the Lord will do what he says.

They will be strong like tree near a stream that send out roots to the water. They have nothing to fear when the days get hot. Their leaves are always green. They never worry, even in a year that has no rain. They always produce fruit.
