심장에 별 하나

소녀의 심장엔 별 하나가 박혀 있다.
그 별은 늘 같은 자리에서 반짝이며,
빛을 돌리고 또 돌린다.
시침이 똑딱,
분침이 똑딱,
두 바늘이 360도를 도는 동안
빛도 360도 회전하며
하나가 둘이 되고,
둘은 다시 하나로 이어진다.
별은 변치 않는 주문을 걸었고,
그 속에서 소녀는 깨달았다.
시간은 매 분마다
인생을 새로 쓸 수 있는 기회라는 것을.
그래서 스스로를 흔들었다.
편안함을 거부했고,
불편을 끌어안았다.
달콤한 안락은 독이었다.
그 독에 잠식되면 성장은 멈춘다는 걸
너무 어린나이에 알아버렸지만
그녀는 감사했다.
매일 너에게 사랑을 고백할 수 있는 이 하루가,
단 몇 초처럼 빠르게 스쳐가기에
더없이 소중했기 때문이다.
그러던 어느 날, 네가 말했다.
“나는 네가 나와 함께일 때 언제나 편안하고

In the girl’s heart,

in just a handful of seconds,
that fleetingness made it
all the more precious.

I will make sure you always feel at ease,
wrapped in the greatest safety."
Those words reached straight into her star.
