지렁이 이야기

봄비가 사르르 내리고 있었다. 말랐던 흙들이 촉촉해져 갔다. 그때에 흙 속에서 삐죽 나오는 무엇이 있었다. 지렁이들이었다. 흙이 촉촉해지고 부드러워지니 흙을 밀고 지렁이들이 흙 밖으로 머리를 밀어내고 있었다.

“야! 공기가 참 부드럽다.”

“왜, 이렇게 밝으니?”

지렁이들은 서로 흙 밖으로 머리를 내민 채로 얼굴에 빗방울을 하나 둘 맞고 있었다.

“어때? 시원하지?”

“쟤는 왜 떨고 있니?”

“누구? 제구나! 왜 떨지?”

“나 말이야? 떠는 게 아니야! 지금 전파를 보내고 있는 거야~”

“어디로?”

“저 높은 하늘에 있는 우리 형제들에게 말이야.”

“저 높은? 뭔 형제가 있어? 너 웃긴다!”

“웃기긴, 넌 못 들었니? 우리 같은 지렁인 도를 닦으면 뱀이 되었다가 구렁이가 되었다가 용이 되는 거야! 그리고 그 용이 하늘로 올라간데……”

“도 같은 소리 하네~ 너! 어디서 그딴 소리를 들은 거야? 우린 지렁이일 뿐이야. 등신아~”

“그러지 말고 우리 누가 더 큰가 내기해 보자!”

“어떻게?”

“흙 밖으로 완전히 나와! 그리고 몸을 길게 뻗는 거야. 그리고 길이를 재는 거지.”

“이렇게? 몸이 가벼워지는데~ 기분도 좋아!”

“어디? 나도! 이렇게 쭉 뻗어? 우차, 우차, 우차”

저마다 지렁이들은 자신의 몸을 길게, 길게 뻗어내려고 안간힘을 쓰고 있었다. 그렇게 지렁이들이 몸을 길게 뻗자, 몸속에 있던 배설물들이 쓱 빠져나갔다. 그리고 몸이 가벼워졌다. 그러자 몸이 가벼워진 지렁이들은 어딜 가는지 몸을 오므렸다 늘렸다 하면서 앞으로 전진을 하였다. 그러자 엄청 커다란 닭이 다가오더니 지렁이를 쪼아 먹어버렸다. 정신이 아찔한 지렁이들은 정신없이 오므렸다 늘렸다 반복하면서 줄행랑을 쳤다. 어떤 지렁이는 급히 흙을 뒤집고 들어가려고 애썼다. 어떤 지렁이는 줄행랑 하다 보니 딱딱한 시멘트 위로 올라오고 말았다. 비가 멈추고 햇볕이 내리쬐니 시멘트 위에 있는 지렁이는 말라죽고 말았다. 겨우 흙 속으로 파고들어 온 지렁이들 중에 대장이 이렇게 말했다.

“흙 밖으로 함부로 나가지 마라! 거기엔 우리를 노리는 적들이 너무 많다.”

그러나 지렁이들은 곧 잊어버리고 비가 촉촉이 내리는 날이면 흙 밖으로 저마다 나가보고 싶어 하였다.

Earthworm story

"Where?"

"To our brethren in the high heavens."

"in a high? any brother? You're funny!"

"It's no funny. Didn't you hear that? Earthworms like us can also become snakes and become the big snake and become the dragon. And we're going up to the sky.

"Don't do that, Let's compete to see who's long large!"

"How?"

Each earthworm is using its own power. stretching one's body long more. The earthworms stretched their bodies long, the excrement came out of their bodies. And their bodies lightened.

Then, the earthworms, which became lighter, moved forward, saying that they pulled and reduced their bodies where they were going.

At that time, a huge chicken approached he and ate the earthworm. The dizzy earthworms pulled themselves or stretched it out and ran away. Some earthworms tried to rush into the dirt. Some earthworms ran away and climbed onto hard cement. Then the rain stopped and the sun was shining, and the earthworms on the cement dried up and died. Among the earthworms that barely survived and came into the soil, the captain said this.

"Don't go out of the dirt again! There are too many of our enemies there."

But silly earthworms soon forget and when it rains, they often go out of the dirt.
