As summer is approaching, a way to cool down with a refreshing taste is, a bingsu. You may be familiar with shaved ice, usually served in a cone with various syrups poured over the ice to give it flavor and a great way to beat the summer heat. In Korea, it is in its own league. Korean shaved ice better known as, Bingsu (빙수), is more thinly sliced and, sometimes made out of milk instead of water. Bingsu melts in the mouth and has a bunch of varieties of toppings that will make the bowl overflow. In this blog, we will showcase some popular Bingsu spots that people have recently gone to and are worth trying to travel for.

1. Sulbing 설빙

One of the most popular chains in Korea is Sulbing. With basically a branch in every area and a continuously changing menu that brings the best out of seasonal produce, Sulbing is a must-try.

2. Tokyo Bingsu 도쿄빙수

Very similar to a Bingsu but with more Japanese influence, Tokyo Bingsu restricts itself to only selling 5 types of bingsu per day and will always use seasonal ingredients and, has become a favorite among bingsu lovers in Korea.

3. Cafe Bora 카페 보라

Popular for its distinct purple color thanks to the sweet purple potato they use in their products, Cafe Bora offers an Instagram-worthy bingsu that will catch the attention of everybody.
