I wanna tell you about the reason why there are no unicorns in the countryside.
The world economic recession is deteriorating due to the ongoing corona crisis and war between Russia and Ukraine. The only way for us to survive is to create decent jobs continually. The answer to that is startups! However, small and medium-sized companies have a lot of weaknesses. Now that the economy is in crisis, capital and good employees lack! To deal with that, startups want to attract investment, but it won't be an easy job. It's because accelarators and veture capital are in difficulty. Yet President Yoon has to make global unicorns. This is what he has to do right now. A Unicron means I trillion won. Currently, there are 23 unicorns in Korea. To make more unicorns, he has three points in his mind. First, expertise. Second, infrastructure. Third, governance. Especially, public servants need to have expertise. Their decision-making matters! Unfortunately, only 5 percent of them know about the 4th Industrial Revolution and digital ecosystem sphere well. The rest of them have no idea about them. This is the reason why there is no unicorn in local communities. In Korea, there are unicorns only in Seoul anf Pangyo. Actually, whenever I meet public servants, I feel that they're very poor excuses. The fact is that is no true, though. Estonia's population is 1.3 million, but there are three unicorns. Also, in Singapore, though it is a smaller country than Jeju, there are 8 unicrons. It's population is just 5.5 million. In conclusion, with everything going digital, public servants have to have expertise, but they don't intend to. This is the decisive reason why local communities can't unicorns!
