미국에서

I was kind of embarrassed because of today’s topic in a writing class. We was talking (actually writing) about “who is an important “alive” world leader in my life. And the teacher asked all of us “who” and “why” before writing. At that time, I really didn’t have my own idea and even didn’t know what is “world leader” means, such as politician, social/civil/environment activist, and so on. I knew some Korean politician, but we talked about someone influenced in the “world”.

I recalled some people’s face, like Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama or even Greta Thunberg, but i felt nobody fit it to write as never respecting them and never concerning them. I enjoy only gossip, entertainment, funny silly things. I wanted to say i focused culture stuff, but I felt kind of guilty. I realized I live only for me, not like other guys in the class. I felt i’m such a small immature baby. Can i keep living like this?

I would be given a chance of broaden perspective by this realization. I hope.
