Explosive by Seren Lee 2023 Oil on Linen 72.7×90.9×3.5 cm

  적운과 바다가 사나운 기세로 치솟는다. 이 용맹하고도 성대한 팽창은 화려한 단말마의 비명을 지르며 곧 죽음으로 이어지리라. 별의 시작과 끝이 그러하듯이, 물을 머금고 커진 구름은 비가 되어 다시 바다로 돌아온다. 뜨거운 일생을 마감하고 흩어진 잔해는 새로운 생명으로 이어진다.

  The cumulonimbus clouds and the sea surge with wild vigor. This brave and grand expansion, much like a spectacular final cry, will soon lead to death. Like the birth and passing of stars, clouds laden with water grow and become rain, returning once again to the sea. After a fervent lifetime, the scattered remnants lead to new life.

  積雲と海が荒々しい勢いで跳ね上がる。この勇ましく盛大な膨張は派手な断末魔の悲鳴を上げながらまもなく死に至るであろう。星の誕生と他界のよう、水を含みやがて大きくなった雲は雨となり、再び海のもとへ戻るのだ。熱い一生を終え、散らばる残骸は新しい生命に繋がるのであった。
