春分 [14] / [33]
"The law judged what you have done. 'I did this because I was a victim too?' That cannot be an excuse. It's you who chose to commit those crimes, not your victimhood,"
Cynthia said coldly.
"Please, arrest her,” for a moment after Lucas said,
"I want to meet her again. This time, as a real man. Not like in the past, as a childish boy. I can let her taste what a real grown man is,"
he sniggered.
"What a load of rubbish,"
Alexander shook his head. There seemed no further reason to stay there with Lucas. They were about to leave the interrogation room without any glance back at Lucas.
“Hey, you know what?” Lucas said from behind.
“You know the reason why Nina is so special? Kiara was like a dead frog on the bed. Can you imagine how intolerable it is to sleep with the dead? When it comes to sex, Violet was much better than Kiara. Well, Kiara’s money was helpful, though.”
Alexander’s fury exploded. He flew at Lucas. Cynthia held his right arm, which was about to hit Lucas’ nose. “Just ignore him, he is just a shithead!” Cynthia yelled at Alexander. She struggled to pull Alexander out of the room. The last thing they saw before leaving the room was Lucas’ nasty shining black eyes.
After signing out, they went back outside. The air felt different. Alexander was still angry. He drank 2 cups of icy cold water in a row, and it barely calmed him down.
"What did we get from this interview?"
Alexander asked Cynthia. It seemed they decided not to talk about what happened in the cell with Lucas.
"She used the name Nina Watkins and worked in a pharmacy on Leonard street. Also she disappeared after the case. Like your case. I can deduce she might have planned all this beforehand,"
she answered.
"How?"
he asked.
"She just disappeared after the cases. As if she completed some missions, didn't she?"
"But the mummy remained in the house, when I was there. That means she murdered the guy there and just kept staying in that place, with the corpse."
Cynthia seemed to fall into deep thought.
"You and Lucas don't have any relation to one another. I wonder if that’s the same for other victims? What about that man? The one who's identity we're trying to uncover?"
