春分 [20] / [33]
With no one expecting it, Violet grabbed the glass full of wine, and poured the liquid right on Cynthia's face. Alexander had tried to prevent her from doing it, but it was too late. It was too sudden, which was hard to believe having been done by such a drunk person. Alexander grabbed Violet's arm roughly, and pushed her hard. Violet stumbled onto the floor, she sniggered, got up with a stagger, and tried to approach Cynthia.
Alexander shouted with anger,
"Get the hell out of here, you bitch!"
"How could you throw me out that way?!" Violet yelled maniacally,
"You never loved me, just used me like a sex slave, you dirty dickhead! I won't let you have peace!"
"Hey!"
It was Ed. He was hurriedly running this way. He wasn't sober either. Ed looked at Alexander, at Cynthia’s glaring eyes burning with fury, at her wet shirt. Ed pulled Violet over towards him.
"We will leave, Let's go, honey,"
he said this in a calm, but forceful way.
"Get off of me!"
Violet pushed his chest violently.
"I will break that whore down, and you too!"
she pointed her index finger at Alexander's face.
"I said let's get out of here!"
Ed grabbed her arm again. Violet slapped Ed's face angrily. Everything stopped. Ed's lip tore a little, bleeding slightly. Ed wiped the lip, and saw blood. Ed laughed bitterly, and grabbed her by the neck firmly. As Ed grabbed a random spot on her body, the clothing on her upper body ripped. She screamed, but he didn't let her go. More roughly, he dragged her out of the bar, hailed a passing cab, and tucked her into the taxi mercilessly.
Cynthia looked like she'd made it to a storm cellar only just in time, right when a tornado was passing overhead. She looked dazed, her face framed by shock and genuine outrage mingled together.
"Hon," Alexander said quietly to her,
"Let's get out of here."
They exited the place quietly, looked about them to ensure that Ed and Violet were actually gone, then hailed a taxi back to Cynthia's apartment.
When they arrived, they both sat in the living room, and Alexander poured them both a couple of stiff drinks.
"No wine, please," said Cynthia,
"I've had enough of that already tonight."
Alexander started to laugh, and Cynthia, in spite of her lingering anger over the previous insult committed her by Violet, laughed along heartily.
"Brandy it is, then,"
said Alexander.
He poured them both a tumbler full, and sat down beside her, handing over her drink.
