낮지도 높지도 않게

갑자기 기울어진
인생의 내리막길.
그 누구도 초라하고
별 볼일 없는 것으로
만들어 버린다.
버둥거려도,
안 버둥거려도,
폼이 안 난다.
나보다 잘난 인생 앞에선 초라해하고,
나보다 못난 인생 앞에선 거들먹거린다.
그래서 하나님은
세상 속 초라한 나에겐
"하나님의 자녀"라 하시고,
세상 속 거들먹거리는 나에겐
"죄인"이라 하신다.
낮아질 땐 올려 주시고,
높아질 땐 내리신다.
세상에선 초라하지 않게
하늘보단 높아지지 않게

Art x Shift
A sudden slip
down the slope of life
it turns anyone
into something small,
insignificant.
Struggling,
or not struggling,
either way there’s no dignity in it.
In front of lives better than mine,
I shrink.
In front of lives worse than mine,
I boast.
So God says,
to the small me in the world,
"You are My child."
And to the proud me in the world,
"You are a sinner."
When I’m low,
He lifts me up.
When I rise too high,
He brings me down.
Not too small to be shamed
by the world,
and never high enough to rise
above heaven.

아트쉬프트(Art x Shift)
저희는 미술작가 부부로서, 예술을 만나는 방식에
변화를 시도하고자 아트쉬프트를 만들었습니다. 아트쉬프트는 예술이 단순한 결과물에 그치지 않고, 예술과 삶, 작가와 관객이 함께 어우러지는 공간입니다. 작업실, 전시공간, 카페, 굿즈샵이 결합된 이곳은 예술가의 창작 과정과 그 안에 담긴 고민, 서사를 자연스럽게 나누며, 예술이 일상 속에 스며드는 문화를 만들어가고자 합니다.
We created Art x Shift with the intention of transforming the way we as a visual artist couple engage with art. Art x Shift is a space where art goes beyond being a mere outcome, becoming a place where art, life, and the connection between artists and audiences coexist. With a combination of a studio, exhibition space, café, and a shop, this space naturally shares the process of creation, the challenges, and narratives within, while fostering a culture where art seamlessly integrates into everyday life.
