파라오가 이스라엘 사람들을 놓아주지 않자, 모세는 분노했어요.
모세가 파라오에게 말했어요. "하나님이 말씀하시길, 오늘 밤 이집트 모든 가족의 큰 아들이 죽을 것이다."
하나님이 그의 큰 능력을 사용하려 하셨습니다.
모세는 이스라엘 사람들에게 떠날 준비를 하라고 말했어요.
"각 가족은 구운 양 고기를 저녁으로 먹으라. 아버지들은 양의 피를 집 문 위쪽과 문설주에 발라 표시하라. 그리고 겉옷을 입고 신발을 신으라. 길을 떠날 준비를 하라. 하나님이 문에 바른 양의 피를 보고 너희 집을 지나가시리라."
그날 밤 이집트 사람들은 통곡하고 비통해하며 매우 슬픈 밤을 보냈습니다.
양의 피로 표시한 이스라엘 사람들은 하나님의 보호를 받았어요.
아침이 오자, 이집트 사람들은 이스라엘 사람들에게 빨리 이집트를 떠나라고 말했어요.
파라오는 결국 이스라엘 사람들을 놓아주었습니다.
이스라엘 사람들은 마침내 이집트를 떠나게 되었습니다.
Moses was angry that Pharaoh would not let the Israelites leave Egypt.
Moses told Pharaoh, "This is what God says, 'Tonight in Egypt the son who was born first in every family will die.' "
God was going to use His great power.
Moses told the Israelites to get ready to leave.
"Each family is to eat a meal of roasted lamb. The father of each home is to take some of the lamb's blood, put a mark over the top of the door and on the posts beside the door of the house. Then put on your jacket and your shoes. Be ready to leave. When God sees the blood, He will *pass over your house."
It was a very sad night for the Egyptians, with much crying and great sorrow.
God's people were protected from harm by the blood of the lamb.
When morning came, the Egyptians told the Israelites to leave Egypt quickly.
Pharaoh finally let the Israelites go.
The Israelites were finally leaving Egypt!
<출애굽기 11:1-13:22>
*유월절(Passover)은 여기서 유래한 이스라엘 절기다.
하나님이 이스라엘 민족을 보호하여 죽음이 그들을 해하지 않고 통과했음(pass over)을 기념하는 날이다.
신약에서 예수의 최후 만찬이 있던 날이 바로 유월절이다.
