Serving period in Army

Even in North Korea, serving period in army is for at least 5 years. Even including women. It is longest in the world.

I think, North Korea has isolated for relatively long terms, so their government has obsessed military ways that they have sacrificed citizens.

During serving period, no one can normally work for increasing incomes even for their country.

However, North Korea government has used youngest citizens who need to work in the economy fields for only military ways, as a result of this, working citizens are more decreasing so their incomes are also decreasing. More getting poor, more obsessing military. Most governments have failed with these ways. As you know. North Korea is unusual, I think.

As long as North Korea has focused on these ways, South Korea has inevitably increased military ways. So unfortunately, most men in South Korea must serve 2 years in the army.

Of course, not only for this reason, but this is most important reason.

한국 남성의 필수 군복무 기간이 2년인 것에 대해 많은 외국인들이 안타까워는 하는데, 사실 북한은 군복무 기간이 10년이라 세계에서 제일 길죠. 심지어 여성도 5년 정도라고 하더군요.

젊은 시절에는 대부분 일을 하면서 국가의 생계와 미래를 책임지게 되는데, 북한처럼 젊은 청년들이 10년씩 군복무를 할 경우 당연히 경제와 미래가 정체됩니다. 경제가 어려워지면 권력은 점점 군사력에 집중하게 되는 악순환에 빠지죠. 젊은 시절에는 신기술에 빨리 적응하는 장점이 있는데, 이 시기를 군대에서 보내버리니, 참으로 악순환입니다.

북한의 이런 상황에서 한국의 2년 복무는 선택이 될 수가 없게 된 거죠.

왜 통일을 해야 하는가, 젊어서의 2년은 늙어서의 10년만큼이나 빨리 배웁니다. 그 시기 한국과 북한은 자국민을 상대로 한 전쟁을 가르치고 있는 거고요.
