니체의 사상이 책 첫머리에 언급되어 저는 철학책인가 싶어 살짝 긴장했지만, 철학 개념에 대한 설명은 간단하게 끝나며, 이 부분을 읽고 나면 이후에 나오는 내용이 조금 더 쉽게 이해됩니다. 특히, 책에서 등장인물 사이에 벌어지는 대화와 사건이 시간적으로 약간씩 뒤죽박죽 섞이곤 하는데, 저자가 인용한 니체의 영원회귀와 관련됨을 알 수 있습니다.
드라마나 영화, 연극으로 표현하기 이토록 좋은 작품이 왜 단 한 차례 영화로만 만들어졌을까 의문이 들더군요. 1988년에 할리우드에서 제작한 영화 (다니엘 데이 루이스와 줄리엣 비노쉬 출연)가 원작의 내용은 물론 등장인물 그 누구와도 닮지 않았다고 판단한 저자가 자신의 책을 다른 형태로 제작하는 것을 이후 허락하지 않았다고 합니다.
위 글은, 사비나가 자신의 삶과 주변 상황을 돌아볼 때 묘사되는 내용입니다. 조강지처를 버리고 정부인 자신과 결혼하려는 프란츠에 부담감을 느낀 사비나는 몰래 떠나버립니다. 유부남을 사귀며 삶을 가볍게 살아가려는 여성이 결혼이라는 무거운 삶의 무게를 지탱하기는 버겁지요. 그와 동시에 자기 존재의 가벼움에 대해서도 혐오감을 느낍니다.

이런 경우, 자신이 이용한 업체 이름과 결제 시 뜨는 이름이 다른 경우일 가능성이 큽니다. 저도 직접 경험한 일이라 별문제 없이 끝났지만, 아무리 소액이라 하더라도 범죄나 오류 가능성은 언제든 있으니 이상하다 싶은 항목이 있으면 카드사에 곧바로 연락해 확인하는 편이 좋겠지요.
